Dr. Helga Wessing

Helga Wessing studied law at the University of Cologne and medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.

Following her legal clerkship in Düsseldorf, she was a partner in one of the major German commercial law firms until 1994, after which she worked as a lawyer at the law firm Wessing II – Verjans.

She received her license to practice medicine in 2005 and completed her doctorate in 2007 at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf with a thesis entitled “Allegations of medical malpractice in anaesthesiology – a retrospective study based on the activities of the expert commission for medical malpractice at the North Rhine Medical Association in the years 1976 – 2004 – outlook on error culture and error management in medicine”.

As a lawyer, Helga Wessing is particularly specialized in medical and medical criminal law. She has been a volunteer doctor for charitable causes for several years.

Her language skills include English, French and Spanish.
